McGorlick, with noise...

Working with film sound means working directly with, well, directors and picture editors. And more than once I've wondered...how do they do it? Seems like there's a lot going on and sound is only one of the steps of the entire process. And more than once I've been asked if I was adept with Final Cut Pro to do some emergency speed audio/video-related stuff. Unfortunately, I'm not... But, I decided to cross that divide. With the help of a beat-up DV cam, an irrelevant storyboard, some friends who were willing to deal with me, and Final Cut Pro, I came up with something. Check it out. Audition

What did I learn? Filmmaking is fun. Technical difficulties isn't. Directing is pretty hard, but laughing isn't.

A Celebration at Lincoln Center

It'll be intense, I promise. I'm in the Section 1, Soprano 1 corner (David Daniell's group).

Friday August 15th, 7:00 pm Rhys Chatham's A Crimson Grail (2008) for 200 Electric Guitars (Outdoor Version) Lincoln Center Out of Doors at Damrosch Park, Southwest corner of the Lincoln Center Plaza (62nd Street near Amsterdam Avenue), New York, NY 10023

Composer Rhys Chatham and section leaders David Daniell, Seth Olinsky, John King, and Ned Sublette lead an oversized orchestra of 200 volunteer guitarists and electric bassists in the world premiere of A Crimson Grail for 200 Electric Guitars (Outdoor Version). The work, originally composed for Paris famed Sacré-Coeur, has been extensively revised to suit the dynamics of the Park's outdoor acoustics. ALSO APPEARING: Beata Viscera: The Music of Pérotin (fl. c. 1200) and Manuel Göttsching: E2-E4 (12.12.81) with the Joshua Light Show.

Baghead

Sup all, the Baghead is coming to NYC and LA on the 25th. Haven't found any theater listings yet, but will post here as soon as I know. Working with Jay and Mark was great, and so far reviews of the flick have been positive. Apparently reception in Austin has been quite good, building upon Tribeca, SXSW, and Sundance. Hiya

After years of brewing and stewing, the site has received some sort of a re-design. Writer's block, creative differences, and member shakeups have all contributed to this delay. Please excuse the TKs and missing spaces...they will be rectified...promise!
